I think that Japanese learners everywhere can agree on one thing: There is not enough reading material out there for us! I’ve spent countless hours scouring the internet and bookstores looking for that material, but it just doesn’t seem to come out of hiding.

There IS a plethora of reading material for native Japanese people though! In fact, Japan has a booming book industry. “So what books are good for those learning Japanese?” I wondered. Again, I spent hour searching and found very little to go on.

That is why I decided to create this site. A user built “repository” for real Japanese books and other Japanese reading material that learners can read, and hopefully learn from.

check-circleWe have a YouTube channel now too! It contains many videos which allow you to check whether or not a book is the appropriate level for you!

Check it out, and please subscribe!!

Please help us build this repository by adding reviews of Japanese books you have read! Or check out other’s Japanese book reviews and if you’ve read the same books, add your opinions! Finally, if you are simply looking for a good Japanese book to read for yourself, head over to The 本 Repository itself, and narrow the list down to your specific level.

If you find this site useful, please consider a small donation to help keep the site up and running!
